Today is another beautiful day!
God is so good. So faithful.
I went to my friends to work this morning and we were listening to livechurch.tv and a message on Habakkuk. I learned that the name Habakkuk means to embrace or wrestle. The lesson was talking about our journey as christians and how the road leads us sometimes through a place where we might question or faith and Gods faithfulness to us and in those places we have to make a decision to embrace God or turn from Him. We have to make the choice to wrestle through the hard times holding on for dear life and those are the times we may not see a single sign of hope but we have to have faith. The speaker quotes James 1 in that we are to “2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Sometimes we like a sitcom life. We have a story line, a little turmoil, some one liners and by the end of 30 minutes everything is wrapped up in a nice neat bow and problem solved. Life doesn’t work that way. These messages talk about the Chapters we go through in our lives. The journey.
He spoke about the times when we just give up because it is too much and about those being the times we need to embrace God, wrap our arms around Him and hold on. We might not see a blessed thing going right and it might get worse before it gets better but then it happens. It doesn’t mean God isn’t listening or doesn’t care. The tide turns and we start to come out. We start to emerge from the place where we were being tested. Sometimes the testing was exactly what was needed to get us to the place God wants us to be.
The message is a 3 part series and I will share the link LifeChurch.tv
I was encouraged so much by this message and it speaks clearly to the places I have been, that I am now and to what lays ahead. I pray it blesses you too!
